Roger Mayer awarded ‘Innovator of the Year’
Effects guru and good friend, Roger Mayer has been presented with the Innovator of the Year Award 2018 by Vintage Guitar Magazine in their Readers’ Choice Awards. This award is not for any one product in particular but for work and design across the board.
As well as being building pedals for Jimi Hendrix back in the day, he has had a long career with studio equipment leading to a successful line of pro-audio hardware alongside his high-end guitar effects.
Roger wrote after receiving the award:
“Thanks to everyone for your kind support over the years and the valuable feedback and direction you have contributed that has given me inspiration to produce unique designs.
A special thank you to Sean Genockey, owner of Black Dog Studios, Surrey, where he has been invaluable in testing and developing new products with me and has been nominated for MPG Recording Engineer of the Year together with Dave Eringa (nominated for MPG Producer of the Year) and Ed Woods (nominated for MPG Mastering Engineer of the Year).
These 3 people have pioneered the use of my latest 456HD® technology and have been recognised for their excellence of work by the music industry.”
As Roger Mayer’s main dealer, Guitar Village deal direct with the man himself and are excited to share the news of this award. His pedals and audio gear are built with real attention to detail and decades of industry experience so it’s no surprise to us that he should receive such recognition.
