Hi Sam from Guitar Village here and today we are checking out the Maestro Mariner tremolo pedal let’s open the box up and take a look at it if you haven’t ever checked out any of these pedals before they’re really cool panels so inside the box here got a few little bits and pieces in there um for any of you who don’t know what these are these are little sticky feet so you get four of them which means if you don’t want to use it on a pedalboard with velcro you can put some feet on you can put it onto a slippery floor and it should give you a bit more grip

okay so here is the panel instantly I think this looks very cool we’ve got some really simple control out we’ve got depth speed shape and then we’ve got a toggle switch which goes between harmonic and classic and then a really simple on and off switch to replace the batteries on these you just undo the screw either side there and you can literally just pull the housing down like that and you’ll see the battery inside on the back here we’ve got a quarter inch input and output and then your standard 2.1 Barrel Jack in there for your power input let’s plug it in and have a listen to it we’ve got the pedal hooked up now so let’s hear some clean tones we’re using a Gibson Les Paul into our house Cornell Romney

that’s some of the onboard sounds you’re going to get from this Maestro pedal it did surprise me a bit actually because I was expecting this to be a kind of one-trick pony but having that classic and the harmonic option really open it up so it goes from a very traditional sounding tremolo with some really really good speed options and depth options to a harmonic mode which is really it’s kind of like univive type territory the shape control is really usable as well when you turn it to the right you get a really kind of choppy Square wave and if you go all the way to the left you get this really cool smoothed out kind of sine wave thing going on I think Gibson are doing a really good job with their Maestro panels and I definitely think you should get down and try one out thanks for watching
