Product SKU: VOODOO-BASS-CLASSIC

The Roger Mayer Voodoo Bass Classic is extremely popular for use with Bass Guitar where it is used to provide both distortion and compression without loosing any of the Bass Guitars original tone and retaining the rich low end.

It has become the No.1 Bass Pedal in Japan where it is the norm for serious Hard Rock and Metal Bass Players who are rediscovering the joys of adding both compression and distortion to their sound.

Electronically the Voodoo-Bass and Voodoo-1 each share all the same features but the equalisation sections have been altered to provide a completely different set of optimised tone response .

It can also be used with regular guitars where the added gutsier bass equalisation enables players who favour single coil pickups to reproduce quite effortlessly the rounded, bluesy sound of classic pickups such as the Gibson P90. The comprehensive Gain and Tone variation provided by the Voodoo-Bass enable a very wide range of distortion sounds to be created from the compressed, just clipped sustain of traditional Chicago Blue to the sweet scream of full tube overload.

Electronically the Voodoo-Bass shares all the same basic Voodoo Series features with dual output buffering or hard wire output etc. The distortion section uses a unique combination of the best discrete and IC design techniques to emulate the type of distortion found on many classic tube amplifiers. It allows the player to create a wide range of distortion effects from mild to extreme whilst reacting to the most subtle nuances in touch and playing.

The Voodoo-Bass is housed in our Classic Style enclosure with both dual direct drive buffered outputs or hard wire output and has provision for an internal 9-Volt Battery (battery life 150Hrs) or can be powered from a 9-Volt DC Power Adapter (not supplied). Extensive internal filtering ensures that noise free operation is maintained even with the most basic of adapters.

DUAL DIRECT DRIVE OUTPUTS are provided capable of driving very long leads without any loss and in fact you could use a speaker lead for the outputs if you want without any hum.

This feature feature is standard on all our voodoo series and in effect reduces the output lead length to zero. This results in GREATER DETAIL and FIDELITY than using two long lengths of guitar leads in traditional hard wire bypass set-ups. The problem of CABLE NOISE induced by vibration on stage is eliminated together with electrical magnetic interference induced into shielded cables from lighting rigs etc. Possibly of more importance there is no TONE SUCKING at all from the output length of guitar cable. After all the ULTIMATE GUITAR CABLE would have a lead length of zero, and guitar players can detect the difference between long and short cables easily. The overall signal quality in the unit is thus guaranteed right up to amplifier and this overall performance exceeds any other method in use today. When using a Voodoo-Bass as the last device in a signal chain the distance to the amp does not come into consideration and long leads can be used successfully in recording situations e.g.: playing in the control room.

TRADITIONAL HARD WIRE OUTPUT /BYPASS is provided as well to enable comparison between using a BUFFERED OUTPUT in your particular set-up. The discussion which one is better is up to you as both possible scenarios are catered for.

Real time stock levels

Fed up with websites advertising guitar that they don’t actually have? So are we! The Guitar Village website is updated in real-time, so that means the second we sell out of a guitar the website will say ‘out of stock’. If it says ‘In Stock’, rest assured we do actually have it in stock and ready to go!

Actual image photography

We don’t want you to have any nasty surprises when you receive a guitar from us so we do our own photography in-house.

Any high-end guitar with a figured finish or unique features will have its own images. If you see “✓ Actual product in photograph(s)” next to the product listing, this will be the actual item you receive.

Any guitar priced under £2000 with an opaque/block finish, or lightly figured woods may have an example image of the guitar.

Ex Demo/New Old Stock Products

Occasionally we list items as ‘Ex Demo’ or ‘New Old Stock’. These are new but may not necessarily be in perfect condition and could have had minor repairs, marks, scratches and/or other defects.

These will be fully described and discounted accordingly.

At Guitar Village we're committed to offering you the very best shopping experience possible. We strive to provide you with an unmatched choice of guitars as well as our award-winning friendly customer service, combined with the best prices in the UK. Occasionally the odd price pops up a little cheaper somewhere else. We don't want any of our customers to ever have to decide between our high level of service and a lower price, so we will always endeavour to price match our UK competitors.

To qualify for a price match it must be:

  • From an official authorised dealer,
  • Identical to the product we are selling (model, colour, specs),
  • In stock and ready to ship,
  • Clearly advertised at the cheaper price on their website (not a price quoted over the phone),
  • An outright purchase price, not including finance, part exchange or any other offer.

Usually these cheaper prices are offered by online-only warehouse retailers with little overheads and a "stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap" philosophy, sacrificing the customer service that's essential to back-up any purchase.

When you buy from Guitar Village you can rest assured that your item will be:

  • In stock if the website says it is,
  • Guitars fully setup to any given requirements by one of our full time in-house guitar techs prior to dispatch,
  • Triple checked through our extensive quality control,
  • Safely and securely packaged, then dispatched using UPS - fully tracked and insured,
  • Full after-sales customer support.
