Here is Roger's press release for the new Purple Haze Octavia 1968:

"This is my latest modern version of the Octavia that was used by Jimi Hendrix on the ”Band of Gypsys” recordings.

I was reunited with this actual pedal July 2020 in London for Juliens Auction in LA, USA.

Anyway the pedal reached a winning bid of $70,400.

This was the inspiration for me produce a Limited Signed Edition run of only 100 units which focused on the iconic Purple Haze Studio Sessions.

This Limited Edition was extremely well received and so and has led me to release the Purple Haze 1968 Octavia in 2026.

The 1968 version shares the same:

Sonic Footprint, Ferrite Transformer, Power Supply Filtering and only differs  from the Limited Edition by not having added 2nd stage Amplification which of course was not used or needed by Jimi on stage for the “Band of Gypsys” concerts.

It has been optimised for the modern pedal board layouts and stage performance requirements.

My philosophy is to never make or reissue an exact copy of my previous designs as I am a firm and committed believer in moving  and pioneering design forward. By using the latest technological  advances  improvements can be heard both with my newest pedal designs and innovative unique recording studio equipment.

I am the inventor of the original Octavia so there would be no point in me not evolving this iconic sound and offering up technical and sonic improvements as was always was the case with my work with Jimi. Thus his spirit and inspiration will be able to continue with a direct link to the past."

Delivery

Any order placed before 2pm (Mon-Fri) will be despatched that same day. We ship worldwide, fully tracked and insured, and you can follow your shipment online every step of the way.

UK Delivery (mainland and non-extended areas): Free, next day service as standard on all guitars. Saturday delivery services also available. Please contact us if you wish to specify a particular delivery date.

Non-UK Delivery: Worldwide shipping prices are calculated at the checkout. Fully insured and tracked via UPS. Please note; customs and duty charges will be payable on delivery.

No hassle returns

We know how much of a gamble it can be purchasing a guitar online without trying it first. That’s why if you receive your order and it’s not as you expected, let us know within 14 working days and we will have it collected by UPS.

Once back we will refund (minus restocking charge) or exchange the item if preferred. Online purchases only.

Fully setup & triple checked quality control

We have in-house guitar technicians here at Guitar Village, so that means all guitars in stock are constantly checked and maintained for optimum playability.

As soon as a guitar is sold it will be fully set-up to ensure it is playing great right out of the box. It will then go through an inspection checklist and is checked again for quality and playability by two more members of staff. Let us know any preferred setup requirements and we will be happy to oblige!

Guarantee

All new products come with a 12 month warranty as standard. Some products will come with an extended manufacturer’s warranty - these will be included with the product and will usually need to be activated after purchase via the manufacturer’s website. Ex Demo products will also come with a 12 month warranty. Pre-owned products come with a 3 month warranty.

Real time stock levels

Fed up with websites advertising guitar that they don’t actually have? So are we! The Guitar Village website is updated in real-time, so that means the second we sell out of a guitar the website will say ‘out of stock’. If it says ‘In Stock’, rest assured we do actually have it in stock and ready to go!

Actual image photography

We don’t want you to have any nasty surprises when you receive a guitar from us so we do our own photography in-house.

Any high-end guitar with a figured finish or unique features will have its own images. If you see “✓ Actual product in photograph(s)” next to the product listing, this will be the actual item you receive.

Any guitar priced under £2000 with an opaque/block finish, or lightly figured woods may have an example image of the guitar.

Don’t fancy the painful wait at home for the courier to deliver your new toy?

If you’re not a million miles away not come in and collect it from the shop? All you need to do it select “Collect from store” at the checkout, pay in full online then pop in with proof of purchase, along with some photo ID* and you can take it away right then and there!

*Photo ID must be a valid passport or driving license.

Ex Demo/New Old Stock Products

Occasionally we list items as ‘Ex Demo’ or ‘New Old Stock’. These are new but may not necessarily be in perfect condition and could have had minor repairs, marks, scratches and/or other defects.

These will be fully described and discounted accordingly.
