The Lowden WL-25 Wee Lowden East Indian Rosewood / Red Cedar has a Red Cedar Top, East Indian Rosewood Back & Sides, 5pc Mahogany/Rosewood Neck, Ebony Fingerboard w/Ebony Binding, Rosewood Bridge, Gotoh 381 Gold Tuners w/Ebony Buttons, Incl. Hard Case.
The Wee Lowden is testament to Lowden's ability to make classic sounding acoustic guitars, but also to keep up with the needs of the modern guitarist. More and more guitarists are favouring the convenient size and intimate feel of smaller-bodied acoustic guitars, so Northern Irish luthier George Lowden has responded by designing the Wee Lowden: a small guitar with a big voice.
The top or soundboard is made from Red Cedar, a choice wood for Lowden ensuring complete tonal structure and resonance. The back and sides are made of Solid East Indian rosewood, which gives the guitar a bright, sustaining resonance characteristic of a much larger guitar. Here's what the man himself has to say out them:
"I have been dreaming about designing a truly ‘small’ guitar for quite a while - but as usual I wanted the sound to be anything but small! The final design focused on voicing the bracing and soundbox geometry so that the voice was even and smooth without the ‘boxiness’ sometimes overly evident in small guitars. Thus the Wee Lowden was born!"
