This set consists of a '56 Stratocaster (#169 on neck heel, Serial #R15995) and a '51 Telecaster (#170 on neck heel, Serial #R16195), crafted by Kendrick 2004.

These were produced as a Masterbuilt pair from the Fender Custom Shop. Part of an export-only run for Yamano Japan, these instruments represent a rare build by Master Builder Mark Kendrick.

Based on Yamano 'NOS' templates, Kendrick elevated these instruments to the iconic 'Mary Kaye' aesthetic—featuring Ash bodies finished in White Blonde with all-gold hardware.

Both instruments feature internal hand-written signatures and date stamps (2.04/3.04) that confirm their sequential production and Masterbuilt status. Complete with their original tweed cases and Kendrick Certificates of Authenticity.

There are several technical discrepancies between the physical instruments and the provided administrative records. While the '56 Stratocaster (R15995, #169 neck heel marking) and '51 Telecaster (R16195, #170 neck heel marking) feature gold-plated hardware and Vintage White ash bodies, the accompanying Yamano spec sheets list nickel/chrome hardware. The internal neck heel and pocket markings (dated 2.04 and 3.04) and the Fender Portal (19/03/2004) confirm a March 2004 completion, the Certificates of Authenticity contain a 12-month date anomaly, with one printed as 2003 and the other 2004. Additionally, both certificates utilise the "Mary Kay" spelling variation, and the Telecaster is physically branded with a "Telecaster" headstock decal and matching COA despite being identified as a "Nocaster" within the digital portal and original export spec sheets.

Some products will come with an extended manufacturer’s warranty - these will be included with the product and will usually need to be activated after purchase via the manufacturer’s website. Ex Demo products will also come with a 12 month warranty. Pre-owned products come with a 3 month warranty.

Real time stock levels

Fed up with websites advertising guitar that they don’t actually have? So are we! The Guitar Village website is updated in real-time, so that means the second we sell out of a guitar the website will say ‘out of stock’. If it says ‘In Stock’, rest assured we do actually have it in stock and ready to go!

Actual image photography

We don’t want you to have any nasty surprises when you receive a guitar from us so we do our own photography in-house.

Any high-end guitar with a figured finish or unique features will have its own images. If you see “✓ Actual product in photograph(s)” next to the product listing, this will be the actual item you receive.

Any guitar priced under £2000 with an opaque/block finish, or lightly figured woods may have an example image of the guitar.

Ex Demo/New Old Stock Products

Occasionally we list items as ‘Ex Demo’ or ‘New Old Stock’. These are new but may not necessarily be in perfect condition and could have had minor repairs, marks, scratches and/or other defects.

These will be fully described and discounted accordingly.

At Guitar Village we're committed to offering you the very best shopping experience possible. We strive to provide you with an unmatched choice of guitars as well as our award-winning friendly customer service, combined with the best prices in the UK. Occasionally the odd price pops up a little cheaper somewhere else. We don't want any of our customers to ever have to decide between our high level of service and a lower price, so we will always endeavour to price match our UK competitors.

To qualify for a price match it must be:

  • From an official authorised dealer,
  • Identical to the product we are selling (model, colour, specs),
  • In stock and ready to ship,
  • Clearly advertised at the cheaper price on their website (not a price quoted over the phone),
  • An outright purchase price, not including finance, part exchange or any other offer.

Usually these cheaper prices are offered by online-only warehouse retailers with little overheads and a "stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap" philosophy, sacrificing the customer service that's essential to back-up any purchase.

When you buy from Guitar Village you can rest assured that your item will be:

  • In stock if the website says it is,
  • Guitars fully setup to any given requirements by one of our full time in-house guitar techs prior to dispatch,
  • Triple checked through our extensive quality control,
  • Safely and securely packaged, then dispatched using UPS - fully tracked and insured,
  • Full after-sales customer support.
