Kauffmann sits comfortably in the diminutive European boutique / relic-inspired builder arena sitting slightly above mainstream production brands and below ultra-premium custom shops in scale and visibility. A small-scale Dutch builder based around a shop/luthier style manufacturing facility.
Here at Guitar Village, we’re thinking, that the build quality, which is consistently strong; “blew us away” with the bar being already very high in this category.
Tone & feel: very “vintage correct” / resonant / with a reassuring and authentic presence.
Relic work: a major selling point – out of the gate, these are guitars are very cool, with relicing artwork up there with the best artisans in this field.
Brand awareness: still relatively under-the-radar internationally, but word is getting out, travelling fast with trying out in shop requests gathering serious pace.
In a word – “I have found my dream guitar, Richard, I’ll take it, thank you very much”
