Founded by Jean Larrivée in Canada in 1967, the Larrivée company is a real family business with wife, Wendy Larrivée, designing exquisite inlays and their sons managing business. In the early 2000’s, Larrivée opened up their factory in Oxnard, California, where, today, all their guitars are lovingly crafted by a skilled and dedicated team.
All Larrivée guitars are crafted with only solid tonewoods; no laminates or composite materials!
Jean Larrivée’s meticulous attention to the selection of perfect tonewoods is a skill that continues to flow throughout the company which emanates from his personal, almost second nature awareness of the quality of every piece of timber ear marked for production.
Models such as the D-03R feature a simply stunning, understated, Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides projecting thoughtful and emotional midrange tones and resonance that all seasoned Larrivée customers have come to appreciate.
