For nearly sixty years, Takamine have been leading the way with their bold acoustic guitars finding favour with many of today’s top rock and country artists. They were pioneers of the electro-acoustic guitar which allowed performers to amplify a true acoustic tone through increasing huge PA systems. Takamine’s inherently bright and resonant character gives them the ability to cut through any live or studio mix. Takamine have also found a strong audience with beginner and semi-pros with their robust and reliable G-Series.
Our Guitar of the Month, the Takamine Limited Edition EF75M-TT, comes from the Limited Series, handmade in Japan, and echoes the much sought-after EF75S from the mid-2000s. The EF75S was limited to 80 pieces and constructed of Brazilian rosewood and AAA Sitka spruce. Its simple design and supreme craftsmanship culminated in a rich sounding and perfectly balanced instrument that is just as at home filling stadiums as it is unplugged and played fingerstyle.
The Limited Edition EF75M-TT was limited to only 100 pieces worldwide and Guitar Village were lucky enough to get the only one in the UK! This time round, a thermally aged Sitka spruce top is used, which speeds up the natural ageing process resulting in open, vintage tones from the off. With Brazilian rosewood being as heavily controlled as it is, the super-rare Madagascar rosewood features which aids in the exquisite tonal balance. The TLD 2 Line Driver pickup system produces a natural acoustic sound for stage and recording.
